HEIGHT OF THE ROCKIES
SHIRAS MOOSE HUNT

Height of the Rockies Adventure CO.(2014) LTD is allocated 2 Moose tags for a five-year term by government so there is very little pressure on our back country moose population.

The Shiras Moose populations in the Palliser River drainage are strong with numerous Bulls ranging from 45 to 50 in. Chances of taking a bull Shiras Moose are very good if you work at it.

The Season is from October 15th to October 25th for rifles. An earlier season for bow hunting starts on September 1 st.

Hunting will be done by horseback, spotting and hiking as required.

ACCOMODATIONS

• Main lodge, size 3000 sq foot, five bedrooms, two bathrooms. Solar powered with back up generator. Road access.

• Two back country cabins, Each cabin sleeps maximum of six.  Access by horseback.

• Tent camps on occasion, access by horseback.

A combination hunt with elk or goat can be arranged.

Tags and Licenses are extra plus a 5% GST tax

Note: Hunting Shiras Moose means you are hunting in mountainous territory. You should be in good physical condition.
